Nagham El Karhili

Biography

Nagham El Karhili is a Presidential Fellow at Georgia State University’s Transcultural Conflict and Violence Initiative. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and a minor in Francophone Studies. She has also earned her Masters degree in Public Relations from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Communication with a focus on Media & Society. El Karhili’s research focuses on international political communication with particular attention to communications’ strategies countering violent extremist narratives. She is also interested in intercultural communication with specific application to the Middle East. El Karhili worked as a human communications’ instructor at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. She is fluent in Arabic, French, Spanish and English and previously worked in the Middle East as a Public Relations’ specialist.
